Sinfonia from Cantata 29, Wir danken dir Gott wir danken dir

from: J.S. Bach - Cantatas

Originally for organ and orchestra in D major, transposed here to F. NB: Keyboard part goes above our usual limit of C6, to F6. Title means, “We thank you, God, we thank you.” The closely related Prélude from the Partita No. 3 in E major for Solo Violin, BWV 1006 was also consulted for this arrangement, especially as regards slurs and dynamics. Connoisseurs of this music should note the differences—in the solo line of these two relatives, which are the same length—in mm. 17-28, 67-78, 109-10, 112, 118-19, 121, 133-5 and 138. Note that we also offer a solo version of that Prélude in the “Pieces for Solo Recorder, No Keyboard Part Anticipated” section. Revised 5.31.20.

Keyboard parts include separate recorder parts at no additional cost.
