Per pianto in mia carne

from: Leonora Orsina (c. 1560-1634)

It should be noted that the attribution to Orsina is not entirely certain. Originally for voice and lute. Recorder part can be played by tenor, bass, soprano, or alto octavino. The piece could also be sung. Text means “My flesh melts away in tears as snow does beneath the sun, or as a cloud dies away in the wind. I do not know what to do. Just think how great my pain must be.”

Keyboard parts include separate recorder parts at no additional cost.
