Four Scotch tunes from Calliope (1739) arr. for soprano recorder & keyboard

1. “The Bush aboon Traquair for the German Flute”, 2. Scots Sang: “Sweet Annie fra the Sea Beach came”, 3. “The Charms of Lovely Peggy”. 4. “The Mutual Kiss”. Each piece is offered in two different keys for added flexibility. We have omitted the repeat signs in all eight of these arrangements, whilst at the same time noting the division into A & B sections which could be repeated. Our belief is that the repeats are for vocal performance which includes two or more verses, but that they are best omitted in instrumental performance, owing to the internal repetitions within each section. It should be noted that nos. 1, 2 and 4 are also available in arrangements for soprano & alto recorders in the “Recorder Duets” section (under “Various Composers”). And no. 3 is also arranged for soprano and alto recorders as part of “Eight Duets” in the “Recorder Duets” section.

Keyboard parts include separate recorder parts at no additional cost.
