Arrangements of the first movement of Symphony No. 4, and of the fourth and fifth movements of Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth). At pitch, except for the fifth movement, which is transposed down a 5th/up a 4th. About the fourth movement of Das Lied, T. W. Adorno wrote, “[at] the end of “Von der Schönheit” [at the upbeat to m. 131, is] a passage the like of which is granted to music every hundred years.”—Mahler, a Musical Physiognomy, trans.
